GENSHIN IMPACT

should the day ever come that we are not together, you will continue to shine like gold in my memories

ABOUT

Genshin Impact is an open-world action RPG where players explore magical lands, meet vibrant characters, and uncover an epic story filled with adventure and elemental magic.

WELCOME

This is my shrine to the game Genshin Impact

I started playing Genshin in 2023 on the advice of a friend.
It didn’t catch my attention the first time I played it. I was quite unused to video games as I’d very rarely played them as a child.
A game called Fable: The Journey on Xbox was the only proper videogame I remember playing.

Genshin actually got really fun for me when I played it the second time. You could explore, run, jump, interact with objects—even cook! (This was a total surprise for me who was unused to videogames.) Plus, due to the influence of anime, I loved the art style.

A PERFECT WORLD

I grew obsessed with the game soon. Its character design, story, and everything seemed perfect to me—a dreamer who looked for fantasies to escape into. I loved the characters I resonated with, stressed myself over farming for them, and even cried over their backstories sometimes.

N A Z W

I loved the characters I resonated with, stressed myself over farming for them, and even cried over their backstories sometimes.

I built houses, wedding aisles, and shrines for my characters in my Serenitea Pot. My top characters are: Zhongli, Neuvillette, Alhaitham, and Wanderer. I ran home every day to play Genshin. It became my ritual: Go home and do daily tasks.

But I stopped in early 2025. It felt like it was no longer the game I'd loved and played. Maybe I was the one who’d changed. I don’t know. But it felt like the game became increasingly more focused on serving the male (read: gooner) audience, and the plot degraded after Fontaine. Natlan felt bland and uninteresting.

I will always love Genshin. But I think I've outgrown it now.

It's a very bittersweet feeling.
